• Yes, you can hang this shelf horizontally but it would not be very functional. It also weighs 20lbs empty. That's a lot of weight to hang on a wall.

• I don't think so, because most of the shelves are not stationary...they only rest on " pegs" so they can adjust up or down.

• The base makes it designed for being vertical. Hanging it will be difficult due to its width in a horizontal direction.
