“I'm not sure if I damaged my stylus while trying to put the protective cap on. (Seems difficult to place the protective stylus cover without dinging the actual stylus.) Now my records don't play. Do i need to get a whole new cartridge or just a stylus?”

This is not an answer; rather a follow-up question. (i'm the person who asked the question, but chose a different nickname) How do I know that I can align the stylus replacement properly, if that's what needs to be replaced. Thanks.
