The compliance of the VM540ML Cartridge (17cu @ 10 Hz) is a bit high for a tonearm whose effective mass is 20.6 grams. The preferred tonearm/cartridge resonant frequency range is from 8 to 11 Hz. The AT-LP120XUSB / VM540ML combination would have a resonant frequency of 7 Hz. So the VM540ML/H on the AT-LP120XUSB Turntable is not a deal breaker, but the cartridge would perform its best on a lighter arm. With a compliance of 15cu @ 10 Hz, the VM530EN Cartridge (or the VM530EN/H Headshell + Cartridge Combo Kit) would be a better match. The resonant frequency of this combination would be 8 Hz.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have it on my LP-120, you will have to set the counter weight again but it’s worth the time and effort. You definitely want the mount that comes on this as it’s lighter weight than the stock one. Other than that the upgrade to this will blow your mind and not you budget as other stylus that are similar.
