A Windows computer will typically recognize the turntable when the USB cable is connected to it and set the turntable as the default recording device. We have seen situations where Windows will also mistakenly set the turntable as the default playback device also however. This is incorrect, so you may want to confirm that the default playback device is still you speakers/sound card after connecting the cable. There are some sound preferences in Audacity itself that will have to be set by you. All recording is done in Audacity. The turntable is compatible with all USB connections.
