“Has anyone tried this cable with the newer NyFlix programs?? I have read others complain that "economy" audio digital cables do not transmit their sound tracks.”

This is not something we've heard about. It should not be dependent on the program being played but the component it's being played on. If the component has a TosLink output, there's no reason why a fiber optical (TosLink) cable shouldn't work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If you mean Netflix, the answer is yes. My research has also found the same info. about the lower priced cords. Besides you will need a better cord when it's time to upgrade your tv to 4k.
