• A:Answer Hello, Typically, most sound bars and HDTV's will use a digital optical connection. When connecting the audio output from a TV to an audio input on a sound bar you would most likely be using a full size to full size optical cable. See the recommendation below. The "digital audio output" on your TV may very well be an optical connection as optical is a type of digital audio connection.

• A:Answer If your TV does not have an optical digital out, then a fiber optical cable will not work. If the soundbar has an HDMI input, you could use the TV's ARC HDMI connection.
