• For the best sound quality, the arrows should point in the same direction as the signal flow, i.e. from your cable box (or BluRay player, Play Station, etc.) to the TV.

• From what I read online and tried from experience it's not a big difference but if you want a more enjoyable experience do it the right way. The quality does get affected but it. Honestly just stick to the direction arrows.
