The directional is simply they tested both ways and the signal is faster and purer via the direction they tell you. Important when passing video data, especially. For ARC, your cable may be sending data both ways. This cable definitely meets the needs of that process.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a hub with my TV, Samsung QLED. I have the cable going from a XBox 1S to the hub. DIRECTV doesn't support 4K, so don't waste your money on that connection. The XBox plays 4K movies and games. From the hub I have a fiber optic cable to the stereo. If you do not have a hub, you should have one on the TV. This way anything you play through the TV will play through your stereo. This will also allow you to use the TV for sound if you don't want to play it through the stereo. If you want to run everything through your stereo, your stereo will have to be 4K.
