• Yes this is compatible with Android and IOS! Yes you have to have a deadbolt! Not sure which brands it is compatible with but I am using a generic mobile home deadbolt and it works great!

• This lock will work with Android, however there is a version without home kit that is slightly cheaper. you will only be able to use the home kit features (such as siri control) with Apple devices. If you plan on switching to iPhone in the future, or live in a home with someone with an iPhone it would probably be worth the extra cost to purchase the home kit compatible version.
