Will this hub work with the Apple SuperDrive? null

I have tried to do this and my iMac 24” (2021) flags up that the “usb device requires power” it’s being recognised but not powered up. I’ve tried both usb A ports and switched between the usb C and Thunderbolt ports on the iMac, the result is the same: it connects but has insufficient power.
