This is only a router. It takes Ethernet input and gives 4 LAN ports plus WiFi. It has no cable modem functionality so you need a cable modem to get the signal from any ISP and turn it into Ethernet. FIOS just requires a different kind of cable modem than most other ISPs use because it uses an optical signal to the network interface (typically on the side of the house) and uses a different protocol from the network interface into the cable modem. The modem/router Verizon rents to you converts that FIOS network interface to regular LAN. You can take a LAN port out of the Verizon modem/router to this Belkin router but why bother since you already have the Verizon router? If you can buy a FIOS cable modem without router combination then you could take that LAN port into the Belkin router.
