• The HDMI adaptor is digital to analog (VGA) and I found that I could not adjust the resolution of the New Computer low enough to maintain a stable connection with my lower resolution VGA projector. Even a member of my local Geek Squad acknowledged this problem. I had to use use a USB to VGA adaptor which worked like a charm.

• I had a similar problem with Windows 8 not recognizing the TV, but when I plugged the adapter in, Windows installed the drivers. I suggest not to plug the adapter in until the computer is up and running. For audio, I had to get into the audio devices from control panel and select the HDMI device as the default.
