This question was asked about the related product: Belkin - MIXIT 6' USB Type C-to-USB Type A Device Cable - Blue
- A:Answer Its for any application where you need to connect a device that has a type "A" USB port (this is the standard USB port on most computers) to a device that has a type "C" USB port (a very small number of newer smartphones and tablets use this port now, rather than the type "B" micro USB port that has been the prevalent standard for many years. I'm not aware of the Apple iPhones(or iPads or iPods) that have a type "C" port - Apple so far as stuck with its proprietary port it calls "lightning" on its mobile devices. This cable will NOT work with an Apple mobile device - you would need a cable with a "lightning" connector. If you're looking for a cable to charge your device, you need to look at the specific type of port your device has, and then choose a cable that has the correct plug. Note that the type "A" port is also the standard on most chargers you plug into an AC wall outlet (or car lighter socket) - so this cable could be used to charge a device that has a type "C" port from either a PC, or from such a charger. If you do not KNOW what type of port your device has, you should consult its documentation or seek help from a qualified technician to find out.
