I also was in dialup, as you are, for more than 10 years. Now my internet provider have a new router with more speed than dialup. I still have a computer with Vista hook to a Belkin router (before with a cisco router) and hook to my internet provider Arris router. You should contact your internet provider for the type of router you can have and you can hood to it with the normal Ethernet cable if it has their router has the connection or have your own router to hook to your internet router.
