The light below the routers main status light is the WPS security light. There is a button on the front of the router used for setup of WPS security. The light will blink if someone pressed the WPS button on the front of the router, and will turn off after 2-3 minutes if no connection is made. Regards, Belkin Support

From time to time the router may drop connection or the modem may have "hiccups". This is common. You need only to worry if it becomes a consistant issue, especially if it gets more frequent. But if it happens once in a blue moon, no need to worry.
