Hi! The charging pucks are only designed for the phone, Apple Watch, and AirPods. The AirPods charging base is designed for an AirPod case only.

I’m not sure about another phone, I believe so. I’ve charged my Galaxy Buds on that spot. I think my phone registers that it’s charging though.
