• Depends on the regulations for wifi use. Usually in dorms they limit what types of devices can use wifi. Printers for instance are not allowed except via hard wire connection. I would assume that this switch would fall into the same category and not be allowed.

• If others have access to the same network, then the WeMo Switch is not secure. Anyone within the network can install the WeMo App and gain control of the switch and the device connected to it.
