Using WeMo switch with an extension cord Are the any problems with using the WeMo switch with an extension cord? For example, to power on two lights at the same time?

There is not any problem with using an extension cord or power strip. It will just control all items at the same time. I have my tv and sound system plugged into a power strip, that is plugged into the Wemo switch. I then can tell the Amazon Echo to turn my tv on/off and it will control both my sound system and TV at the same time.

Should work basically its just breaking the circuit to the outlet so if you plug in an extension cord and have a few lights plugged into that it should turn everything off

Not at all. There is a maximum power output limit for the switch (check the technical specs), but once activated, it simply clicks an internal relay.

There is no problem at all as long as you do not exceed the electrical capacity of the WeMo device.

There shouldn't be any problem, AndyinCO. You can connect an extension cord or power strip to this unit if you want to control multiple devices at the same time. Just make sure not to exceed 15 Amps/1800 Watts as each device you connect will count toward that limit.
