The fact that it is designed so poorly and therefore toasts unevenly isn't considered a defect by the folks as Bella who would have to fix the problem if they admitted that it is a problem. So they won't offer you any resolution to the problem, other than encouraging you and your half-burnt, half-untoasted bread to have a nice day.
