- Answer Only if you cook something too long and it starts to burn. Then it will set off your ceiling alarm. Remember to check frequently because it cooks extremely fast but is still crunchy. You don't want it to cook too long and get hard. So until you get used to it I would check about every 3 to 4 minutes
