I have cooked steaks, chicken and fish in ours and as long as you keep the bottom cleaned out after each cooking, the smoke is VERY minimal. Even while the meats are cooking, I have not had an issue.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.In part, it depends on what you are cooking, and how much. My experience is that sausages produce the most smoke, especially if you cook an entire package. I've never set off a smoke alarm (although that could be because I don't have one in my kitchen), but I have seen my air purifier go crazy on those occasions.
