Hello paddypoo, thank you for your question and your interest in our products. Gluten-free bread requires the right conditions to toast. Many gluten-free breads are more dense than regular bread – and a regular “toast” setting means crispy on the outside and cool/frozen on the inside – then, by the time it’s toasted throughout – edges are burnt. The gluten free setting toasts dense gluten-free slices longer and at a lower temperature so it heats them through without burning them on the outside. I hope this helps. Best regards. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. So even if the gluten free option is because their bread cooks differently people with celiac who actually can’t have gluten can not share a toaster with non gluten free things. This would be cross contamination and make them sick…. Coming from a mom with a child with celiac disease. This consent is great but only to be used as a gluten free toaster in general.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. While I do agree, the reason is because gluten free breads take longer to toast because of their density. This feature is suppose to simplify the process for people who eat gluten free.
