Yes, I also noticed that it did not mention preheating in any of the instruction books,. I haven’t owned an air fryer yet that you did not have to preheat, so I am sticking with the preheat rule of five minutes before cooking.

Please try again later.Like others have mentioned I start my air fryer before adding whatever I'm cooking, although through a bit of experimentation I've found that simply setting the temp to its highest setting (400° to 450° depending on the model) on 'air fry' mode for a minute or two is all you need to effectively preheat your fryer. Then, after the 2 minutes add whatever your cooking and turn the temp back to the foods required temperature. I've used this preheat method prior to all the additional cooking options such as roasting, broiling, etc. and everything has come out great!
