• A:Answer Strong plastic I don't like glass. The glass breaks too easy and I have stepped on glass. Not fun. So I like the strong plastic here. Some of the blades are metal. I have't used the plastic blade yet but the metal puree one works well.

• A:Answer Yes. Be careful when choosing frozen items to blend, they might make a real roaring sound coming from the blender. Keeping it on lower speeds with less growl. Then again it has a nice ice crushing capability. I think look in owners manual, it says what to chop up or what size so go by this.
