A:AnswerCessy - do yourself a favor and get something else. This toaster worked perfectly for a short while then started burning toast or leaving it undone. We just lived with its shortcomings until today when it broke and was unuseable.
A:AnswerOurs works well. My suggestion is to make sure you didn't accidentally turn on the bagel mode. That will turn off the heating element on one side of each toaster slot.
