Refresh Rate (commonly called hertz/hz) is a unit of frequency that defines the number of cycles per second of a periodic phenomenon. When applied to monitors, it basically means that 1 hertz = 1 frame per second. The higher the Hz, the more frames your monitor can display per second. Most major movies and TV broadcasting do not display anything more than 30 frames per second. Console systems like the Xbox and PlayStation generally do not exceed 60 frames per second and 60 Hz. Generally speaking, 60Hz is the minimum for a good quality, solid experience from a monitor. If you're a gamer then the higher the refresh rate, the better. Refresh rates now go up to a whopping 240Hz. For computers and laptops I recommend 144 Hz. You should try to have the same or more Hz than frames per second when gaming. 3D content requires 120 Hz. Even for non-gamers, going below 60Hz will start to hurt your overall PC experience. Hope this helps. Thanks.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The frequency is 83 kilohertz.
