“If I only want to use the Bissell Crosswave x7 for a small area of my house (muddy paws by the door) do I have to clean it out everytime? Or can I just dump the dirty water out & clean it after a few uses?”

All i do is rinse out the container. If i am only doing small areas, i will rinse off the roller only if the roller looks like it needs it and i will do that by running the machine while it's sitting in the tray. Hope this helps.

I generally don’t end up cleaning with soap because the machine cleans itself with the solution, so it’s very simple to take apart and rinse for your next use.

While the self-cleaning function can be a little more work I love to use that feature because you start off with clean rollers instead of starting off with residual dirt. Personally I would run the self clean function and dump the dirty. But I would not worry about leaving fluid in the supply chamber.
