• You press the tab/button near the hose end and pull the hose end out to change the hand use ends or put it back into the main unit.

• Good question, Jad! You'll need to remove the portable spot cleaner from the machine to use the hose. When looking at the machine from the front there is a pedal on the left side to release the portable cleaner from the base.

• On page 4 of the user guide there is a picture of the cleaner. On the right side of the machine, if you're standing behind it like you are using it, there is a pedal. It's labeled "Portable Spot Cleaning Release Pedal" in the manual. Use the pedal gently with your foot and the specialty tool should be working for you.
