Q: QuestionCould this be used as a baby monitor? Wondering if it would play continuous on the echo for night time use to monitor a baby.

• A:Answer There is a limit to the continuous live viewing on the Blink cameras. Currently, you are able to view up to 5 minutes at a time in 30 second intervals. After 5 minutes you would have to initiate a new live view session.

• A:Answer The Blink Mini cameras when armed record clips based on motion detection only. You are also able to save live view sessions with the Blink Mini as well. The Blink Mini cameras do not offer continuous recording though you can leave the camera armed for motion detection for any interval of time.

• A:Answer The Blink System (including the Blink Mini) does currently require a 2.4ghz WiFi-based Internet connection to operate. Blink is not compatible with wifi networks broadcasting a 5ghz signal.

• A:Answer Yes that is absolutely correct. I own one and all I had to do was download the app to work it and I don't need to be home to arm it or disarm it. Great product.

• A:Answer I do not recommend using any surveillance camera through a window because it disables the night vision from working due to the glass reflecting the Infared Light back at the camera basically blinding it. My advice is purchase the Blink XT2 outdoor units for that type of surveillance.

• A:Answer The Blink system would theoretically work in the Philippines assuming you got the correct power adapter, however we do not currently offer a local server to support the system. This means that you could suffer from poor performance, lag time issues, and quickly draining battery life as a result. This would void our warranty as well.

• A:Answer You are able to adjust your camera settings, view video clips, receive notifications, and access live view through the App on your compatible mobile device from anywhere as long as you have a WIFI or cellular connection. This is important to note for your cellular data plan, watching a five second motion clip without WIFI connection will use about 750KB of your data plan.

• A:Answer Yes, The Blink Mini can be added to your existing Blink System. You can have up to 10 Blink devices per sync module as long as they are all within the 100ft operating range of the sync module in any direction. The cameras on the sync module can be in any combination.

• A:Answer While the Blink System does integrate with the Amazon Alexa enabled devices, you do not need one of these to operate the Blink System. The Blink App is currently compatible with any iOS mobile devices running version 10.3 or higher, Android mobile devices running version 5.0 (Lollipop) or higher and Fire OS mobile devices, running software version 5.1 or higher

• A:Answer No charges until the end of 2020. If you choose to keep using their cloud, there will be a charge, and if you don't there will be no charge but you won't be able to save your recordings. Blink has promised a local storage device called Blink Sync Module 2, slated to arrive later this year for $34.99. Think of this as a mini-storage server where you can plug in a USB flash drive for storing clips. One Sync Module 2 will support up to 10 Blink cameras: Mini, XT, XT2 and Indoor are included. This way you can store files locally and you won’t need to pay monthly fees.
