The battery life depends on how active the area is. Each camera uses 2 AA lithium batteries. Yes, you can purchase a different mount.

This is defined as 40,000 seconds of Motion Clips and Live View. This is the average use for the majority of Blink camera systems. Here are a few things that can affect battery life: Alkaline and re-chargeable Li-Ion, Ni-Cd, Ni-MH batteries are incompatible Slow internet connection speeds use more power over time Extreme temperatures reduce battery performance Weak signal strength from a camera to the Wi-Fi and/or the Sync Module requires more energy to transmit data DO NOT use AA Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) batteries as these carry a higher voltage and may cause issues with your camera. *A new set of non-rechargeable AA Lithium batteries should last for a total of 40,000 seconds of motion-activated video recordings and/or live video. We define standard, or typical use as approximately 10, five-second video events per day. The Blink cameras are shipped with two non-rechargeable AA 1.5v Lithium batteries and they’re easy to replace when the time comes. Simply slide open the battery compartment, take out the old batteries, and insert the new set. Blink camera batteries should be replaced by Energizer Ultimate 1.5v Lithium AA batteries or the equivalent. You can purchase any two AA lithium batteries to replace yours if needed and they can be purchased from nearly any grocery or convenience store for about $2 each. We do ship each Blink XT2 camera with a mount that will allow you to reach customizable angles more easily.
