- Answer Hi there! The activated carbon inside the filter itself will absorb all kinds of smoke and odors. They absolutely work on cigarette, cigar and wildfire smoke.

QuestionHello, we have had our blue Air 211+ since about July 2021. It just recently started making a loud "whirring" or grinding sound, the sound does persist when remove the fan part from the filter part. Are there any steps we can take to clean the fan?

QuestionMy unit is so quiet, I can barely hear it,, even on the highest level (same sound for all 3 levels). Is it working properly?

- Answer It should be noisier on the two higher fan speed levels. You can visually see which level the fan is set to by observing the number of white bands illuminating the circumference of the round name-plate on the front of the machine.

QuestionThe blue indicator light is on but the fan is not working at any speed. I've plugged and unplugged and held the button down to try to restart. Is there anything else I can do or is this an expensive, energy-sucking dud? It's only 2 months old.

QuestionA video for the BlueAir Pure 211+ showed you can fold the filter and place in your dishwasher. Is that true?

- Answer Hi Bev, we do not recommend washing and reusing replacement filters in any way. The washing process could compromise the filter's integrity, causing possible damage to the essential structure of the filter's effectiveness. For optimal performance, always replace filters with a new corresponding Blueair filter.

QuestionWe recently purchased the Pure 211+. Our unit shuts off and then we have to manually restart it. If this normal? I have not seen anything in the manual concerning this issue. Please respond asap. Thank you

If the problem persists, we suggest arranging for an exchange from the original Best Buy you've purchased from or contact [email protected] and request for a warranty exchange by providing a proof of purchase. - Answer I don't have the 121 model. Look on the pure blue website. If it doesn't say it does, then assume it does not. I have the 211 model and I am happy with it.

QuestionDoes it eliminate kitchen smoke?

- Answer It generally does for me. For example, when pan-searing chicken breasts and I accidentally used oil with a low smoke-temp it eliminated the majority of the smoke within five minutes and the smell after ten or so.

- Answer Not much. Should be in the description. It is light weight. Can be picked up with one hand, if You were not required to use two, handles on two sides. It is easily pushed on the floor and movable.

- Answer Couple of questions for you. Are the filters on the units clean? Are the units located so that there is sufficient air flow? You state "the fan is spreading more dust around and not trapping it." The fan only moves the air after the air passes through the filters. If fan is blowing dust that means filters are not doing their filtering job. Suggest that you clean any washable filter elements or replace the non-washable type and allow at least 4" clearance around the unit(s) to insure adequate air flow.

- Answer The Blue air is a home air purifier. If the residence has an occupant that is Covid-19 positive they should be isolated away from other household occupants. That being said it would make sense to place an air purifier in the infected persons room and keep the door closed with minimal contact with other occupants
