Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Answers previous are in conflict and all right to a degree. To be clear, there is a specific TiVo for that. You would need to purchase the OTA version. The other model only works on cable.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This specific model works with either cable, or broadcast tv. There’s also an “OTA” model that only works with broadcast (but has cheaper service), and a cable model that only works with cable (but can record from 6 instead of 4 channels at once....6 being the hardware limit for cable cards). The newer Edge units are similar in what they support. If you’re only using it with broadcast, the ota models will save you money.
