The point of TiVo is to replace the boxes by the cable company. You need to get a card that I'd installed in the main TiVo box, this usually costs a couple odd dollars a month, 2 or 3. Fios then initializes the card after the box is registered to the tivo system. If done corrected toy hand back all your boxes back to Fios. If you need more then one TiVo box, TiVo will help you configure them to task to each other once ethernet using the cable in the house
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just accidentally clicked on "report" to try & update what I found out from FIOS. Sorry! Please don't report me! I talked to FIOS tech support after I talked to the FIOS sales person & the FIOS person IS wrong. According to tech support, the Tivo needs a CableCard. I don't need BOTH the FIOS box AND the Tivo box, just the Tivo box.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. That does not sound right, but I do not have FIOS, so maybe they do not have a cable card to go into the Tivo. Although I thought all providers were required by FCC to supply a cable card as an option. Normally the box is replaced by the cable card that goes inside the Tivo.
