We have a TiVo with a cable card from Comcast / Xfinity on our TiVo. It may be different by region but I have found that many of the reps don't know much about the cable cards. I would try calling back and asking again from a different rep. Comcast does have a section on their website about cable cards and it doesn't say anything about not being offered anymore...
