Yes, I'm pretty sure you can. You're not buying a monthly plan; but, are buying a data plan. Their best data plan at the moment is $50 for 10 gig. I think you could purchase as many plans at one time as you think you will need. I haven't bought this device yet but am speaking from experience with the hotspot I used to have on my old phone. No matter how fast I used the data, I could add more right away as long as there was money in my account to cover it as it is still prepaid.
