Can I unlock this phone and use a different carrier? null

Yes, you can, but for data network to use on other network , you have to get it flushed , simple unlocking wont help. Keep in mind if you will take this route, you would be compromising on warranty;-). I would recommend to use it on carrier network till their unlocking policy prescribe and then ask them to officially unlock. Best regards

I know last year you had to wait 1 year after purchase but I would call to see if that has changed.
