• Yes--you will simply need to contact your mobile phone company or some of them do have self-activation. I have had to replace many phones and have never had an issue.

• Yes, you can change phones and keep your phone number. Also, if you activate the new device over the phone, you can keep your plan (if its still compatible with your new phone). If Best Buy sets it up, you may loose your current plan.
