It is technically both. But it's primarily a CDMA phone, but uses a simcard for 4G LTE. The phone can be used on a gsm network when you are outside the United States or if you can find a way to unlock it...

Sprint network CDMA is what Boost works off.

The one I bought is for Boost Mobile only and it is for the CDMA service provided by it. You can get the same phone unlocked version and it is for both CDMA and GSM.
