“How sensitive are the front buttons? If you brush up against them will they turn on? My current dishwasher does this and I want to stay away from this type in the future.”

No such problems with this model. You actually have to push, not brush these buttons.

They do need to be pushed in to activate. This model also has a child lock feature when can be used while the dishwasher is running.
