My Bosch dishwasher certainly has a traditional heating element to dry after the wash. I know this because long after the wash action stops, the energy consumption spikes. Soon after steam begins to escape from the unit. The dishes are blistering hot and bone dry. That doesn't happen without a heating element. And I can find no way of turning it off. I wish to air-dry my dishes, and can't seem to find a way to do that.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The Bosch doesn't have a heating element in it like other dishwashers so you shouldn't need to worry about this. It uses the heat created during the washing cycle with the hot water to dry.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.They talk a lot in the manual about using a Jet Dry type of product and that there really is not a drying cycle. I have always been in the habit of turning off the drying cycle in my previous dishwashers and just opening the door, dumping any accumulated water in flipped over items or the bases of cups, leaving the door open for a bit and letting the whole thing air dry before unloading. This dishwasher seems to leave things dryer than my previous units, so I am satisfied.
