A:AnswerHi Mary,
The washer and dryer are designed in Germany and unfortunately they kept the higher voltage for it for the North America market. The washer is designed to plug into the dryer directly, and then the dryer plugs into the 220V wall outlet designed for it.
So if you only wanted a washer, it would mean some electrical work in your home to accommodate the higher voltage requirement , so not ideal.
A:AnswerHi there. Thank you for your question. The Bosch Compact Washer can be operated independently, however you would need to have a NEMA 6-15 outlet installed in order to plug in the washer.
A:AnswerI never change any water temperature settings. All goes very well with just selecting wash cycle from dail and pressing start. Has been a hard working get the laundry machine .
A:AnswerWe recently moved from a single family home to a two-level condo. Our laundry room is extremely small, forcing us to stack our washer and dryer. We ended up acquiring a small washer and dryer made by Bosch. We bought the 300-series line for both as the 500-series line is similar but more costly, The Bosch dryer is self-contained, meaning that there is no need for external venting as the machine uses a water-based drying system, thus eliminating the need to clean the external air filter tube periodically to reduce the possibility of a lint based fire. I cannot directly answer the question posed, but do recommend the 1-800 Bosch information line (1-800-944-2904) for these types of questions. We have used it several times, and highly recommend it. Note: If you do parchase the 300-series line, be advised that the doors on each machine open/close in different directions, and are non-reversible.

A:AnswerHi Sidney. Thank you for your question. Liquid detergent is to be placed in the far left receptacle. To measure liquid detergent: 1.Pull out the detergent dispenser tray. Press down on the insert and remove the drawer completely. 2.Push the liquid detergent insert forward and down as shown in the Use and Care Manual. 3.Reinsert the tray into its compartment. Detergent for pre-wash is placed in the far right receptacle. Fabric softener can be placed in the center receptacle. Fabric softener is automatically dispensed during the last rinse cycle, please do not place directly into the washer. Dilute concentrated or thick fabric softener or fabric conditioner with water (2/3’s water) before pouring it into the dispenser (prevents blockage of overflow). NOTICE: Do not use Chlorine based or color safe bleaches as these could
damage the washer. Detergents and/or solid bleaching agents based on Oxygen (like Sodium Percarbonate) are safe to use.
