compared to my last counterdepth fridge from kitchen aid , one can argue that it is about an inch out. but it is not noticeable at all

The depth you have asked about is with the handles which does add more to the width. The required cutout size is (HxWxD) (in.) 70" x 36" x 25", most kitchen cabinets are 24" in depth. Appliance dimensions with hinges and doors, no handles: (HxWxD)(in.) 70"* x 35 5/8" x 28 3/4".
