• A:Answer Hi DJ, thanks for your question and interest in Bosch dishwashers! One of the most notable differences between the 300 and 500 series is the additional AutoAir® drying feature included with the 500 Series models. This will automatically open the door at the end of the cycle to let moisture escape and fresh air in for drier dishes. Other differences include the silence rating: 300 Series – 46 dBA, 500 Series – 44 dBA, and the 300 Series models have a Standard 3rd Rack versus the Flexible 3rd rack in the 500 Series. The Standard 3rd Rack provides the perfect space for items such as flatware, large utensils, or measuring cups. With the Flexible 3rd Rack, expandable wings easily lower to accommodate more of your deeper items, while adjustable tines let you customize the rack’s loading space to fit awkward or bulky items. Q: QuestionThe website is adding an installation kit for $34.99. Do I need this or does the dishwasher include all installation parts?

• A:Answer The Bosch dishwasher does not come with every thing you need to install it. It comes with an electrical cord with a standard plug on one end and with a proprietary connector on the washer end, the drain to the sink (or more specifically a disposal) and the parts needed for physically installing the machine. It still requires the plumbing for the hot water line. The useful parts that the Best Buy kit provides are a brass angled connector which connects to a "hose connector" on the back of the washer and a braided stainless hose to connect to your plumbing. The "hose connector" is the same size and thread pattern as a garden hose. You need a 90 degree fitting since the washer's inlet is perpendicular to the back of the machine and nearly all installations will require the water hose to turn 90 degrees for clearance with the wall behind the washer. The stainless hose attaches to the brass fitting and may or may not have the correct fitting to attach to your home plumbing. I had to add an adapter for mine. If you have a good source for plumbing parts nearby, you probably could duplicate the kit locally.

Q: QuestionDoes this Dishwasher come with a power cord or a Bosch junction box? the description says no power cord, the picture shows a power cord attached to the washer. and i few installation video's i see show it come with both.
