Our new dishwasher never gave off any such smell. Sometimes it is hard to find all packing materials. check that again and remove all protective films as well.

If you notice an unpleasant smell coming out of your dishwasher, it might be due to food particles and debris getting stuck in the filter during each cycle. To get rid of the smell, follow these steps to thoroughly clean your dishwasher: 1. Use a dishwasher cleaner. Follow the instructions on the cleaner and run your dishwasher on the hottest and longest cycle. 2. If you have an air gap, make sure to check that food particles are not building up in the air gap filter. 3. Clean the filter regularly, which is located at the bottom of your dishwasher. After removing the filter, clean it by running it under water with soap and a soft brush. 4. Make sure that the spray arms are clean and not clogged. To check, run them under water and see if any holes are blocked. If they are, use a toothpick to loosen any debris caught in the holes.
