the dishwasher does not come with a faceplate or handle, only with mounting hardware. The door handle/knob will attach to your own faceplate, that you will need to provide. You can attach any kind of handle to your faceplate that you like, so a knob will work. Just the screw for your handle/knob needs to be flush with the plate on the mounting side.
