I am in the same predicament. I called Bosch yesterday (5/6/23) and spoke with a customer service rep and I asked first if a stainless steel one was available for purchase (No), and then she explained that the DW door needs the weight of the wooden cabinet door installed to operate correctly. Otherwise, without it, it will “snap back” and is a hazard to catch fingers. I have read that some of the IKEA panels work and am myself now looking into those as a possible temporary fix until we delve into our full kitchen remodel. Hope this information helps!
