You are correct. This design is for buyers who want the dishwasher to "blend in" with the existing cabinetry. Therefore you will need a front panel the matches your cabinetry--including the hardware. I suggest a wide handle rather than a knob-type drawer pull. If you want a "normal" dishwasher look, order a different model.
