Questionis the dishwasher usable without the custom panel? Not sure how long it is going to take cabinet maker

- Answer It absolutely is usable, however difficult to open & close if fully mounted in without the front panel providing a handle. If you need to use it before completed better to have it sit a little forward and out from under cabinet. Also, the door is designed for the weight of the cabinet to counter the resistance, so without it, the door will want to pull up and close WAY more aggressively than normal. Also, for the fit to work proper we had to remake cabinet plate to 29x23 3/4.

- Answer There is a kit to attach the panel but you need the panel. You can go to your cabinet maker or Lowes or Home Depot to get the panel too. I go mine there but that said the panel is another 150 to 1000 so i think you are better off getting the stainless panel. If i was to do it again i would. Don't get me wrong i love the look of the one with the cabinet but i am not sure its worth the expense and time. The goo thing is if you ever have to replace the dishwasher you can reuse the panel in most cases.

- Answer Measure the cabinet face you have.Then consult the specs for the NEW dishwasher "Panel size" to see if they match. I have had 3 "panel ready" dishwashers in my kitchen and no problem switching the panel from the old on to the new one. The only caveat is that the panel needs to be well-made.

- Answer The specs for the new dishwasher will tell you the size. It is probably a standard size for compatibility between brands. My best advice is to have the panel made by an experienced cabinetmaker to match your existing cabinetry. If you are a skilled woodworker, you might do it yourself but otherwise let a pro do it. If done right, you will love the look.

- Answer A panel ready dishwasher allows you to make the exterior of the dishwasher to your taste.I suggest that you have the panel made to match the kitchen cabinetry, including the handle, so that it will blend in. Any competent cabinetmaker can do the job for you. If you make it yourself, be a perfectionist. The panel can be moved to a new dishwasher when you replace the current one.

- Answer Most manufacturers have standard mounting hole locations and standard sizes for front panels. Unless your panel does NOT cover the entire dishwasher door (such as if the controls are front-mounted) you can be pretty confident it will work. Check the new dishwasher specs to verify this.

- Answer Hi Wes, thank you for your question. Model:SHVM78Z53N does include a direct power cord. However, if you want to hardwire this dishwasher you would need to order the Junction Box with power cord Model:SMZPCJB1UC.

For Model:SHVM78Z53N here are the parts you will need to supply for installation: Elbow connection with 3/4” female hose threads on one end and fits your water supply line (copper tubing, compression fitting, or braided hose) on the other. Hot Water Supply Line - Minimum 3/8″ O.D. copper tubing or metal braided dishwasher supply line. Only needed if house water supply line is not sufficient. Shut-off valve and fittings appropriate for hot water supply line (copper tubing/compression fitting, or braided hose).

- Answer You are correct. This design is for buyers who want the dishwasher to "blend in" with the existing cabinetry. Therefore you will need a front panel the matches your cabinetry--including the hardware. I suggest a wide handle rather than a knob-type drawer pull. If you want a "normal" dishwasher look, order a different model.
