“Can silverware be securely placed in the entire top rack? The pictures look like there is a place on the side for silverware but the rest seems more suited to larger utensils. Is that the case? I’m hoping to put all of my silverware in the top rack.”

The smaller slotted rack on the top right is best for protecting the blades of sharp knives where each knife has its own slot and doesn't touch anything else. The rest of the top rack is open without slots. Best for large prep and cooking utensils, measuring cups and shallow bowls. Loose table flatware could be spread out and would not fall through this open area, but I would not recommend this space for flatware which belongs on end in the basket in the bottom rack. On the top rack, spoons not carefully placed upside down would have water pooled in the bowls and none of the flatware would shed water as easily as on end in the lower basket.
