Can you voice dial? Calling the people in my directory from my headset is standard for me. This headset I understand is a few decades behind in some respects. Is there a way to overcome this in a practical manner on the Android platform (Galaxy Note 3)?

Yes, but you must first hold the answer button down on the blue tooth for 2-3 seconds then it prompts you to give a command to your phone. The instructions are in the paperwork you get with the device.

When this headset is connected to your phone but not on a call, tapping the call button on top will activate the voice dialer on most android phones.

I am not sure where you received your information but I have used this headset with my iphones, ipads, windows based phones as well as an Android phone and I was always able to utilize any voice function on any of my devices while I did NOT experience any difficulties. You may want to find a new source for your information in the future because whoever told you this hardware is decades behind in their technology has NO clue what they are talking about and is NOT a trusted source. The name "BOSE" is why I gave it a try and I will NEVER use anything else.

I also have the note 3. I am able to voice dial using the android voice commands. It is seamless!!

Paired with my iPhone 5, with Siri enabled, no problem with voice dial from my address book. Works great, seems to understand my voice command much better than my Jawbone/s ever did.
